Our Technology

The tools your dentist uses matter just as much as their skill and experience. When a practice invests in advanced technology, it means more accurate diagnoses, faster treatment, and a more comfortable experience from the moment you sit down.

At Orange Blossom Dentistry in Orange Park, Dr. Jessica Nixon and Dr. Ryan Garske have built a practice that combines the warmth of a hometown dental office with the capabilities of a modern, well-equipped facility. Whether you’re coming in for a routine exam or a more involved procedure, you’ll benefit from technology designed to make every visit better. What Technology Means for Your Care

Most patients don’t think much about the equipment behind their treatment, and they shouldn’t have to. But the right tools make a real difference. Technology reduces guesswork, shortens the time between diagnosis and treatment, and in many cases makes procedures more comfortable than patients expect.

The team at Orange Blossom Dentistry has invested in tools that directly improve patient outcomes. From the first scan to the final result, our equipment is selected with one goal in mind: giving you the best possible care in the most efficient, comfortable way.

The Technology We Use

The following tools are part of how we deliver the quality of care our patients have come to expect. Each one plays a specific role in supporting accurate diagnostics, effective treatment, and a better overall experience.

  • iTero digital scanner: This technology replaces the traditional goopy impression trays that most patients dread. The iTero digital scanner captures a precise 3D image of your teeth, which allows us to send accurate measurements to the dental lab. The result is that crowns typically come back in about three days instead of a month, getting you the care you need faster.
  • Cone beam CT (CBCT): A standard X-ray shows a flat, two-dimensional image. Our cone beam CT provides a full 3D view of your teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures. The American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology identifies CBCT as the preferred method for presurgical implant assessment. For patients considering dental implants or root canal therapy, this level of detail leads to better planning and better outcomes. Many practices require patients to travel to a separate imaging facility for this scan. We perform it right here in our office.
  • Intraoral cameras: A small, handheld camera allows us to show you exactly what we see during your exam. Rather than describing a problem verbally, we can display it on a screen so you can see it for yourself. This helps you understand your diagnosis clearly and makes treatment decisions easier.
  • Diode laser: Our diode laser is used for soft tissue procedures. Compared to traditional methods, diode laser treatment means less bleeding, reduced post-operative discomfort, and more precise results. It is commonly used for gum contouring, periodontal therapy, and other procedures where precision and patient comfort are both essential.

Together, these tools support a higher standard of care that is available to every patient who walks through our door.

Why This Matters for You

Technology is only as valuable as the people using it. Dr. Garske and Dr. Nixon are the only two dentists at Orange Blossom Dentistry, and that is by design. They are committed to staying hands-on with every patient and every procedure. You will always see the same familiar faces here, providers who know your history and your preferences.

A Private Practice Committed to Your Comfort

Orange Blossom Dentistry is privately owned, and that means decisions are made with patients in mind, not driven by a corporate model. Investing in diagnostic tools like CBCT and digital scanning is a reflection of that commitment. For patients who want to understand what is happening with their oral health, our technology makes that conversation easier and more meaningful.

If you experience dental anxiety, our technology also plays a role in reducing your discomfort. Faster, more precise procedures mean less time in the chair and less uncertainty about what is happening.
