New Patients

At Orange Blossom Dentistry, we make becoming a new patient simple and stress-free. From your first appointment to understanding your care and payment options, our team is here to guide you every step of the way.

Starting care with a new dental office can feel like a lot, especially if it has been a while since your last visit or you are searching for a practice that will treat your whole family. We built our new patient process to be simple and welcoming from the moment you reach out, so you know exactly what to expect before you ever sit in the chair.

We are a husband-and-wife team, Dr. Jessica Nixon and Dr. Ryan Garske, and we have cared for Orange Park families for close to 35 years. Whether you need a routine cleaning, have a child due for their first visit, or are looking for a long-term dental home, we want your first appointment with us to feel comfortable, not clinical.

How To Schedule Your First Appointment

Getting on our schedule takes just a few minutes. You can contact our office directly to speak with our team and find a time that works for you, or you can request an appointment through our online scheduling form if you would rather book outside of office hours. Either way, we will confirm your visit and let you know if there is anything specific to prepare for based on the reason for your appointment.

If you are coming in for something urgent, such as a broken tooth or sudden pain, let our team know when you reach out. We prioritize same-day emergency care whenever possible so you are not left waiting in discomfort.

What Should You Bring With You?

A little preparation goes a long way toward a smooth first visit. Please bring the following with you to your appointment:

  • Your insurance card, if you have dental coverage.
  • A valid photo ID.
  • A list of current medications and any relevant medical history.
  • Your completed new patient forms, if you had a chance to fill them out ahead of time.

Filling out your forms in advance is not required, but it does save you time in the waiting room. If you are not able to complete them beforehand, simply arrive a few minutes early, and our front desk team will help you get everything squared away.

What Happens At Your First Visit

Your first appointment with us is about getting to know your smile and your goals, not rushing through a checklist. Here is exactly what you can expect:

1
Comprehensive Exam & X-Rays
Dr. Nixon or Dr. Garske will complete a thorough exam and take any necessary X-rays to get a clear, complete picture of your oral health.
2
Open Conversation About Your Smile
We talk with you directly about what we see, answer your questions honestly, and make sure you understand your current oral health status before anything else happens.
3
Cleaning (When Time Allows)
If your schedule and appointment allow, we will move into a professional cleaning during the same visit so you leave with a fresher, healthier smile that same day.
4
Personalized Treatment Plan
Before you leave, we walk you through a treatment plan tailored to what you actually need — with no pressure and no surprises. We explain your options clearly so you can make an informed decision about your care.

What To Expect When You Arrive

We know that walking into a new dental office can bring some nerves, so we have designed the experience to feel unhurried and personal. Our front desk team will greet you, confirm your information, and introduce you to the hygienist or doctor who will be seeing you that day. Wait times are typically short, and our office reflects the same calm, welcoming feel you will find throughout our patient information resources.

If dental anxiety has kept you from scheduling in the past, we also offer sedation dentistry as an option, and we are happy to talk through what that could look like for your visit. Our goal is for you to leave your first appointment feeling more at ease about your dental care, not less.

Ready to Schedule Your First Visit?
Our team is here to answer your questions and get you on the schedule at a time that works for you. New patients are always welcome.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to Orange Blossom Dentistry. If you have any questions before your visit or are ready to get on the schedule, contact our office, and we will take care of the rest.
